Malte Preuss studied economics at the University of Leipzig, the National University of Ireland, Maynooth and the Freie Universität Berlin. After graduating in 2014, he worked as research assistant at the chair of public economics at the Freie Universität Berlin. Here, he started his Ph.D. thesis on the stability of economic preferences. In addition, Malte Preuss was a member of the EVA-MIN research group and evaluated the German minimum wage reform and its impact on wages and employment in the short run. In December 2018 he joined the scientific staff of the German Council of Economic Experts as economist for labour markets and social policy.
