Tomorrow, 8 October 2022, marks the first day of the quiet period of the German Council of Economic Experts. The council members will not make any public statements on economic policy issues until the Annual Report 2022/23 is handed over to the German Federal Government on Wednesday, 9 November 2022. The Annual Report will be published on this website at the beginning of the press conference subsequent to the handover to the government.
In accordance with its legal mandate, the council will discuss the economic situation at national and international level as well as its development in the light of the energy crisis. The Annual Report will also include the fourth national productivity report, which the council publishes annually as the national productivity board of Germany.
