Overview

One of the key objectives of the German Council of Economic Experts is to describe and analyse the overall economic situation and its future development under consideration of relevant national and international driving factors. The German Council of Economic Experts forecasts economic developments in a total of 50 economies worldwide, including Germany and the euro area. For Germany, the development of the labour market and public finances are also analysed and forecast. In addition to forecasting the short-term deviation of the economic situation from the growth path, the GCEE assesses the growth prospects of the German economy beyond the short-term forecast horizon as part of a detailed medium-term projection.
