Monetary Policy

Overview

The stability of the price level is a key element for the stable development of an economy. In line with its mandate, the German Council of Economic Experts therefore analyses monetary developments, monitors the monetary policy of the European Central Bank and forecasts inflation in Germany and the euro area as part of the economic forecast. Thus, the German Council of Economic Experts closely accompanies the monetary policy decision-making process in the Eurosystem.
