Balint Tatar is senior economist for macroeconomics on the scientific staff. He joined the scientific staff of the GCEE in June 2021. Prior to joining the Council, he has been working as a research assistant at the Institute for Monetary and Financial Stability at the Goethe University Frankfurt. As part of his PhD studies his research focussed on dynamic and international macroeconomics as well as on estimation methods of macroeconomic models. Before that he studied business administration at the University of Cologne and economics and mathematics at the University of Bonn. In parallel to his academic studies he had been working in the banking sector for several years and afterwards he was also employed by the European Commission in the Directorate General for Economic and Financial Affairs.
