Cabinet proposes appointment of Gabriel Felbermayr

The German Cabinet has decided today to propose to the Federal President the appointment of Prof. Mag. Gabriel Felbermayr, Ph.D., as new member of the German Council of Economic Experts.

Gabriel Felbermayr is director of the Austrian Institute of Economic Research (WIFO) in Vienna and university professor at the Vienna University of Economics and Business (WU). His research focuses on issues of international trade theory and policy, labour market research and European economic integration.

Following the nomination by the German government and appointment by the German President, Dr. Frank-Walter Steinmeier, he succeeds Prof. Dr. mult. Dr. h.c. Ulrike Malmendier.
