Quiet period begins

This year's quiet period of the German Council of Economic Experts begins on 12 October 2026. The council members will not make any public statements on economic policy issues until the Annual Report 2026/27 is handed over to the German Federal Government on Wednesday, 11 November 2026. The Annual Report will be published on this website at the beginning of the press conferences subsequent to the handover to the government.

The Annual Report includes the economic outlook for 2026 and 2027, as well as two further chapters discussing the necessary consolidation of the federal budget and productivity dynamics among companies in Germany.
