Statement by the German Council of Economic Experts

The German Council of Economic Experts (GCEE) notes with great surprise and deep regret that our colleague Ulrike Malmendier has not been reappointed after a term of office of only three and a half years. With her departure, the GCEE loses a highly esteemed Council member whose international academic reputation is unrivalled in the long history of the Council. The GCEE will particularly miss her outside perspective on Europe and Germany from the United States.
