Forum on Innovation Policy and Labor Market Reforms

What are South Korea's and Germany's different approaches to innovation and industrial policy? What labour market reforms have the two countries carried out in recent years and what effects can be observed? These were central questions at the "Forum on Innovation Policy and Labor Market Reforms" held in Wiesbaden on 29 November 2018.

In cooperation with the South Korean National Economic Advisory Council (NEAC), the German Council of Economic Experts thus offered a platform for the exchange of different experiences with these two current topics and for the discussion of possible options for action. The German Council of Economic Experts thus continued its strategy of intensifying communication and cooperation between economic policy advisory bodies worldwide.

Participants included representatives of the expert councils of the Republic of Korea and Germany, the Consul of the Republic of Korea as well as scientists and experts from European and Korean research institutes and think tanks.
